Harlequin Socks Pattern

Harlequin Socks Pattern

My first pattern drop of 2025 was not something I planned to release but I am delighted that there was such a positive response to it.  It was one of those knits that I really just made because I wanted to thinking that most knitters might be intimidated by how technical they look.

The original inspiration for these socks came from knitting the Diamond Vest I loved knitting the little diamonds and craved seeing it as an all over pattern.  The second inspiration was really the yarn.  One of the most sold through items at Knit Club  is Madeline Tosh's colorway Ginseng.  Its a totally strange colorway that for some reason became a stand out favorite of the Knit Club Locals.  It looks like this is skein form:
The allure of knitting this insane yarn was contageous - I had to do it.  It was so fun to watch the color change and stack and made the end result sock have a lot of depth.  This pattern would be gorgeous in solids but I love how it looks with a pop color and a chiller variegated yarn.
A reason I was hesitant to release this pattern is that if you do not let your floats be loose enough, it will be hard to get the sock on.  If you plan to knit this - please keep that in mind as you tend to your floats.

But with that disclaimer- this is one of my favorite socks I have ever knit and now I kind of want to make it a sweater.  The void is calling me to make this a sweater and I am resisting. Look how fabby Amy Cakes looks in their hand made argyle vest and using this sock as a little sun protection.

This pattern will be available at 10am ET on January 30th - I hope you consider knitting it :)
