The fall sweater collection is finally coming with an in person drop at Field and Supply market in Kingston NY October 6-8th and an online drop at 2pm ET on October 13th.
This collection represents a re-emergence into ready to wear world after a pandemic hiatus of focusing on my hand knit pattern collection. My goal with the collection was to create 3 simple shapes: crew, cardigan, and a giant sweater. With these shapes I use yarn structure and pattern to create versatility.
The first sweater designed was the Flower Power Cardigan which was initially inspired by a Schoolhouse Electric quilt which had clear nods to Scandinavian florals and Americana quilts. I loved the simple flower motif and saw it as a playing card. The hand knit version of this sweater will be called the Six Of Daisies as an ode to this inpsiration. They are made from super soft baby alpaca with a tiny bit of nylon content to prevent the alpaca from growing.
The next shape is the crew which comes in several forms this season. First are the two bulky weight versions made from Andean Highland Wool and knit by our artisan partners in Peru. These are the Holes Sweater, coming in a lighter luxurious cream color called Birch and a richer taupe called Cedar.
These sweaters are one of my favorite designs ever. The shape is easy to wear and the knitting is so special. The inspiration here was from one of my favorite hand knitting books that I have ever seen, Pop Knitting by Britt Marie Christoffersson.
The second bulky weight crew is the Necklines Sweater. Its like wearing your two favorite sweaters on top of each other but with less bulk.
The last of the crews this season is our longtime favorite Eyes Sweater. We typically offer this one in cotton but this season its knit up in a cozy, creamy cashmere merino blend. In addition to black, this season we focus on the warm tones of late fall with our Golden colorway.
The final shape of the season is the giant sweater. This is the sweater of my dreams. A huge sweater to cuddle up in- in front of the fire in a cabin with a book and some hot coffee. It too is our luxurious cashmere merino blend. Although its a massive sweater, it seemingly fits all shapes and heights of bodies so nicely. Our beautiful model Shatajah, shown below in Cedar, is about 5'10" where as Jungil, shown below in Deep Indigo, is more like 5'3". I hope that you will love these sweaters as much as I do- I am so proud of this season and I am so happy to be back making sweaters for you to enjoy for a long long time.
I hope that the shorter days and longer darkness brings you more rest and I hope these sweaters create the perfect outfit for adventuring out into the cold or for staying in and still.
