Rhinebeck 2025 Recap

Rhinebeck 2025 Recap

Oct 19, 2025

Rhinebeck weekend always feels like a blur of yarn, friends, and too much good food — and this year was no exception.

Martha Porter from Buried Diamond, Me, and Amy Cakes

DEGEN vended on Thursday and Friday at A Woolen Affair, which was such a beautiful event put together by Catherine of Brooklyn General Store. We set up right on the water, and even though it was chilly and blustery, the energy was amazing. Catie from Fiction Fibers popped up in our booth, which made it even better — she’s such a joy to share space with.

Caitlin Hunter, Catherine, and me

As usual, we rented a house with our knitting besties, which honestly might be my favorite part of the whole weekend. There’s something about coming “home” after the show to cozy lighting, yarn piles, and people you adore. Caitlin Hunter (Boyland Knits) cooked dinner for everyone, which was such a treat — we were all so grateful. Shelli (Shelli Can), Casey (Portfiber), Amy Cakes, Vanessa, and Allison were all part of the crew, and it just felt like one big, wooly family. Even though Allison has been on team DEGEN for nearly 6 months, we had never met in person. It was such a joy to meet and spend real time with her.

On Saturday, we headed over to New York Sheep and Wool around noon. I loved seeing everyone’s Rhinebeck Sweaters — there’s nothing like that moment of spotting a pattern you recognize walking by, or someone stopping you for a photo. Meeting so many people who came up to say hi really made my day.

I ended up heading out a little earlier than planned because I wasn’t feeling my best, but I’m still so thankful for the time I had there. It’s weekends like these that remind me how special this community is — full of creativity, generosity, and genuine connection.

And of course, it wouldn’t be Rhinebeck without catching the Andrea Mowry x Spincycle meet-up on the hill. Always such a fun, surreal moment to see everyone gathered together, showing off their makes.
