How it is Made

This piece is a love letter to Peru. Crafted in collaboration with fair-wage artisan partners, each garment reflects a deep respect for craft, community, and tradition. With fewer than 100 pieces made, every design remains as special as the hands that created it.

Artisan Crafted in Peru.

Built to be worn, kept, and collected over time.

Rooted in Craft. Made to Last.

Crafted by Skilled Artisans in Peru

Every DEGEN knit is a collaboration—a chain of hands. From fiber to finished garment, each piece passes through skilled fair-wage Peruvian makers who bring generations of knowledge to every step. Spinning, dyeing, knitting, linking, washing—each stage held with care, precision, and pride. This is craft as a living practice, not a process.

A Study in Knit Technique

Each design is an exploration of knit as both structure and expression. DEGEN draws from global traditions, historic arts movements, and experimental techniques—balancing handcraft and machine innovation. The result is knitwear that feels intentional, artful, and quietly complex—meant to be worn, examined, and appreciated over time.

Material, Sourced with Purpose

We work with some of the finest natural fibers sourced in Peru—from Pima cotton to highland wool and alpaca blends. Each yarn is selected for its integrity, feel, and performance, then thoughtfully paired with design. The result is knitwear that holds its shape, softens with wear, and carries the story of where it came from.

“Meet the knitwear brand worth obsessing over.”

Meet DEGEN

Lindsay Degen is the designer behind DEGEN, a craft-led brand at the intersection of art and fashion.
